directions to the hostel

from the Sint Pietersstation

tram 1 (Flanders Expo - Wondelgem / Evergem) brings you from the St Pieters station or center (Korenmarkt, Gravensteen) to approximately 300 meters from the hostel (stop 'Witte Kaproenenplein'). Cross the street and tram tracks and follow a little street ahead of you (Aloïs Joosstraat), in between some appartments.  You end up at a waterway, named Brugse Vaart, where you'll find us!
Tram 4 (Gent Sint-Pieters - Moscou) brings you from the St Pieters station to approximately 600 meters from the hostel (stop 'Brugse Poort'). Cross the tram tracks and the street, and go straight on for some 200 meters (a street called Noordstraat).  You end up at a bridge (Phoenixbrug): just before the bridge you take a street on your right side, along the water. This is the Bargiekaai!
A nice alternative to public transport is the bicycle. On various places in Ghent bicycles can be rented for short periods: the Steendam (Biker), the Maria Hendrika Square (near the station) and the Lange Violetstraat (De Ligfiets).

from Dampoort station

Bus 3 (Gentbrugge - Mariakerke Post) brings you from the station, through the centre to approximately 300 meters from the hostel. Get off the bus at 'Brugse Poort', just before the crossroad, cross the latter, walk straight on into Noordstraat and before the bridge turn right and follow the water. This is the Bargiekaai.
